Project Description |
The Playspace at the Aitken Hill Community Centre is a haven of diverse play opportunities, offering a range of engaging experiences for children. The playspaces are open, flexible spaces adorned with lush lawns and softfall surfaces, ready to be utilised in countless imaginative ways. Whether it's running, jumping, or simply relaxing on the grass, the possibilities are endless. One of the highlights of the Playspace is the 'Forest Exploration Zone'. These specially designed areas feature pebble zones, mounds, and dense plantings, creating a captivating environment that sparks curiosity and encourages adventurous exploration. Children will be delighted to find an array of sandpits, wetplay areas, and cubbies, offering opportunities for sensory play and social interaction. The transition from the veranda area to the playground is seamlessly addressed using ramps and steps, ensuring accessibility for all. The veranda itself has been thoughtfully divided using raised planters and garden beds, creating an informal yet inviting space. The edge of the veranda has been beautifully softened with the installation of additional garden beds, extending the deck to incorporate sandpits, lookout features, and integrated garden areas. This integration blends the natural and built environment, providing a harmonious setting for play and relaxation. |
