Project Description |
An initiative of the Walter and Elizabeth Hall Institute of Medical Research, the Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre, located in Parkville, Melbourne, is a bi-lingual childcare centre, built as a service to support mothers who are working within the field medical research and science, and encourage new mothers in the same industry, to continue their careers. As a multi-level centre, Botanical Traditions was afforded the perfect opportunity to create playspaces on each of the four levels for separate age groups whilst using plants and natural materials to invite a sense of outdoor adventure into the building. After 18 months of dedicated work on the project, we were very pleased to witness the launch and opening ceremony on June 6, 2018. It received the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and ManagersĀ gold award in 2019 for best commercial playspace. |
