Project Description

The playspace design offers a captivating and natural setting for children's exploration and enjoyment. It skilfully blends dynamic elements such as a sandpit, outdoor kitchenette, and manual water pump, encouraging active engagement with the environment. An African thatch hut, a standout feature, provides essential shade and is aesthetically complemented by a nearby palm tree.

At the heart of the design is a circular path that connects diverse play zones into a unified 'play ribbon,' weaving through the area to cater to children of all ages. The inclusion of plantings throughout the space introduces seasonal interest and beauty, with the strategic placement of deciduous trees planned to offer dappled shade in the future, ensuring comfort during warmer months and allowing sunlight through in winter to warm the playspace areas.

This design thoughtfully integrates the site's existing trees, creating a seamless blend with the natural landscape. The resulting playspace is vibrant and lush, with a variety of plant life adding colour and texture. Deciduous trees in the Car Park Area further enhance the aesthetic appeal with their seasonal colour changes. This holistic approach to the playspace not only prioritizes children's play and exploration but also highlights sustainability and the intrinsic beauty of natural elements, making it a thoughtfully designed area that encourages discovery and learning in a beautiful, functional setting.
