Project Description At the heart of our endeavour is the integration of various plants within the community centre, creating a vibrant and visually appealing environment.Throughout the playspace, we have carefully designed the planting arrangements to provide contrast and visual texture, seasonality, and areas of distinct plant combinations, rather than providing a more limited planting palette. The diverse selection of flora enables children to connect with nature and develop a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world.
To further enhance the landscape, we have incorporated African thatch style shelters, which provide delightful shade over sandpits. These cosy spaces inspire imaginative play and foster social interactions, creating a sense of belonging within our community. Additionally, the shelters, accompanied by rock edging, contribute to a visually stunning setting that sparks the imagination and ignites storytelling adventures.
In our commitment to safety and active engagement, we have meticulously designed various surfaces throughout the area. From the bark soft fall areas to the natural and synthetic turf, every surface has been carefully selected to ensure a secure environment for running, jumping, and playing games. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that their children can fully enjoy the space while remaining safe.
The Greenvale West Community Landscape Design Project aims to create an inclusive and dynamic space where nature, creativity, and physical activity come together.
