The design is for a private secondary school. This design seeks to enhance the open nature of this entry space by creating a vista view to the main building and focus of the space upon entry.

The garden along the street frontage has been been renovated to provide more variety, colour and interest. Towards the main building, multiple new social areas, complete with seating has been provided. The garden flows around these seating areas. The configuration of the spaces relate to the location of the existing Callery Pear trees. It is also a great waiting area for pickup.

The proposed planting consists of evergreen plants as well as annuals, which will tie in with the annual program in the Zone 1 Area. The new small growing, flowering trees are under planted with fast growing herbaceous perennials, groundcovers and annuals.

The rooftop area is redesigned to form a multifunctional terrace which caters for a host of activities. Many of the existing elements are utilised in the new design. For example the current paving and seating, while a new pergola provides a welcoming, shady space to sit. The new pergola has built in lighting as well as focused lighting for the stage. However, specialist event lighting consultants could be engaged to add event specific lighting if required. We have kept the main area of the rooftop clear to allow for flexible seating should events be held on the roof. A new stage area allows for presentations, with the historic building behind providing a back drop for events and photographs. The stage would be constructed out of a light weight material such as Millboard. A small intimate enclosed area in the far corner allows for a quiet space to sit and read a book or time to simply take in the view of the rooftop and complete lesson plans.
